I got a voicemail yesterday from this firm and they mentioned a debt from a few years ago. The caller was pretty aggressive and mentioned things like wage garnishment and a possible lawsuit if I didn't call back immediately. It freaked me out, honestly.

I started looking into it and found some information online that says a law firm can't garnish your wages without a court judgment first. They also have to send you a written notice with details about the debt and your right to dispute it. I haven't received anything in the mail from them yet.

Now I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else dealt with this firm? Is this a standard scare tactic, or should I be taking this seriously and call them back? I don't want to ignore something important, but I also don't want to get tricked into paying a debt I'm not sure about or that they can't legally enforce. Any advice would be appreciated.
